4H Hotel

On the third night, a mouse showed up in my room. Apparently there are plenty of them there. The ants were everywhere too, whether I had food or not. The linen was filthy and stained, and the furniture was old. The plastic chair at the table looked like it cost three kopecks. On my first day, they accused me of using too much electricity, even though I hadn't turned on the air conditioner. I was suffering with just the noisy fan, which they said was running on electricity. The room's window looked straight onto a grate and brick wall about a meter away. The kitchen was downstairs, and the pipe they called a window had holes in it (see photo). Every morning I got the smell of cooking from a floor below, plus noise from 6 a.m. until noon. It felt like living in a communal apartment. But the room was small and humid, so I had to open that window to air it out. I had agreed to 3,500 rubles for a month, but when I arrived the price went up to 4,000. On the fourth day, after all the other problems, I demanded a refund. They caused a huge scene and said I'd have to pay 250 for every day, then leave immediately. It went on for about an hour, and I barely got the remaining 3300 back. When I checked out, they sat in the room watching to make sure I didn't take anything. I had five minutes to pack. What was there to steal, dirty towels or two glasses? There wasn't even a safe. I lost a lot of money and nerves. They only agreed to refund me after I said I'd have parties every day so they wouldn't get any peace. Then they got scared. This is the most disgusting hotel, I highly recommend it! (That is sarcasm.)

The receptionist was a Vietnamese guy who speaks Russian. He gave us a discount and was a great guy. It's a family-run hotel, and their customer service was excellent. I highly recommend them!

I booked and paid through traveloka, but when I arrived, the manager said there were no rooms!
