Tran Vinh 2 Hotel

I had no trouble communicating with the receptionist, who spoke Chinese well. He was polite and friendly, and answered all my questions easily. The staff provided really good service, and my room was very clean.

The breakfast was okay, with limited choices for vegetarians and vegans, though I don't hold that against the hotel since this isn't a major metropolis. The food I could eat was nothing special, and I mostly went for the free coffee. There's another hotel with better ratings that couldn't take a group as large as ours, so if you can, I'd check out Sunrise Bac Lieu instead. I wouldn't return here. My family and I arrived without booking ahead, and the friendly staff accommodated us without a problem. The location wasn't bad either. We paid, got our room assignments quickly, and headed up. I was told the hotel was less than a year old, but it was obvious it had been renovated, and the workmanship seemed mediocre. The room was relatively new but small, with walls that looked like they'd been painted more than once. There were mold stains on them and dead mosquitoes on the window ledge. In the morning I found four fire ants on the bed and a few more near the wall. I left shortly afterward. The bathroom needed better cleaning and ventilation. There were mold stains where the floor and wall met, and an unpleasant smell I couldn't quite identify. Sound insulation was poor too. I could hear people walking and talking in the hallway as if my door were open, along with street noise.

The town has a smell, and the elevator outside by the basement smelled dirty. The hot water also wasn't working properly.

The staff and service were great. I'd recommend the place and would definitely come back if I'm in Bác Liệu again!
