Diamond Stars Ben Tre Hotel

We only had one night here, sadly, but it was the best hotel of our two weeks in vietnam. The room itself and its view were amazing, and the service was friendly and helpful with everything. They arranged a bus to saigon and a free shuttle to the station. When we decided against a tour, they set up a visit to a nearby coconut workshop instead. We enjoyed our stay a lot and can only recommend it!

For what it costs, this hotel was incredible. The staff, especially reception and the door team, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily, water was replenished, the bed was very comfortable, and the air con worked perfectly. The room was roomy, the bathroom felt luxurious, and the view was great. Breakfast was good, but the vegetarian and vegan choices were limited, which may be hard for people with dietary needs or intolerances. The pool area had a fantastic view, though the water was very cold and there weren’t many comfortable places to sit. Proper sunbeds or cushioned chairs would improve it. It was also a shame there was no gym and the rooftop bar wasn’t finished yet. Still, the room and the service made the stay, and we’d happily return.

We celebrated our honeymoon here and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great. The rooms are huge, with an enormous bathroom and a stunning view. The swimming pool is fairly big, but mostly shaded. That might be welcome in Vietnam’s summer heat. We visited in November, though, and even with warm temperatures of 28-30 degrees, the wind made it feel a bit too cold by the pool. Still, an amazing hotel.

We came from Ho Chi Minh City with a group of 20 for a wedding, but one of our friends didn’t bring his Visa because he didn’t know the hotel required it for booking. Hotels we’ve stayed at elsewhere, including in the area, haven’t asked for Visa paperwork. The customer service was horrible. They couldn’t give us a reasonable explanation for why this hotel had such a strict requirement, and they didn’t help or accommodate us. Some friends have moved to the hotel right next door, and some of us joined them. The place just doesn’t make you feel welcome or comfortable, and if the whole wedding party could move, we would. Check all the requirements before staying. There’s no restaurant or anything else within walking distance, and the surroundings are dirty and smelly. Diamond Stars Hotel is more like Dirty Pebbles Hotel.
