Buon Ma Thuot Hotel

We arrived with a confirmation email from the website where we’d booked, but the hotel wouldn’t give us a room. They said it was our fault because we hadn’t called them first to verify.

The manager was professional, but the receptionist kept making things complicated after checking our documents. He continued to act suspicious for no reason, even though my wife is local, then asked for a phone number after all those checks. It felt more like being investigated than staying somewhere to relax. Reception could use more professionalism.

Breakfast was very reasonably priced, and they supplied toiletries, bottled water, and a kettle. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room and bedding were clean, and housekeeping serviced the room every day.

The normal room they moved me to at my request was clean and better than the supposed nicer room. In that first room, I spotted ants on the wall, the card slot was broken, and there was an annoying beep after I’d only been in there two minutes. Noise is the bigger issue, though. I can hear everything outside clearly, and I doubt the walls have any insulation. I’m expecting a long couple of days, since peace and quiet matters a lot to me. If it matters to you too, don’t come here. If it doesn’t, this is a solid, clean choice.
