The worst part was what happened around 5am on our second night: we woke to people shouting in the hallway and saw flames just outside our window. No staff member came to wake us or warn us. We got out safely and nobody was hurt, but it was frightening, and the fire could have broken through our window and reached the room. Afterward, we were disappointed that they still charged us for both nights, despite how badly things ended. Before that, our two-night stay had seemed fine. The hotel is brand new, and our room was clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, the staff didn't speak English, and there was no breakfast. There was a restaurant upstairs, but apparently it wasn't in use yet.

The new furniture and modern, creative space-saving design are nice, but some stains on the walls and floor hadn't been cleaned properly. The sliding makeup mirror sits too low, so you can't see your whole face in it.

We were right in the city center, so getting around was easy, and there was plenty of parking, including in the basement. The elevator was especially convenient. We paid 300k VND for a single room, and motorbikes were 140k VND for a scooter, with manual bikes cheaper. The owner was incredibly lovely and enthusiastic. After checking out, we needed to stay overnight, so we rented another room, and he let us check out late without an extra charge. He also suggested places to visit and eat and helped us rent motorbikes. Our room had a wide city view, and the fifth floor looked out over the whole boulevard. The room was clean, and our single room for two was spacious. This season in Buon Ma Thuot felt perfect: a fan was enough, and we could still sleep with blankets at night.
