The Light Beach Residences by Arena Hotel

The disorganization, mixed messages and staff attitude really affected our stay during peak season. The hotel seems to cater mainly to large tour groups and families. There were children everywhere and it was noisy throughout, so it may not suit anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing break. Although there are several restaurants, only one was running during the Chinese New Year rush, and even the convenience store was closed. I was told there'd be an hour's wait at the restaurant. When I asked for a reservation an hour later, I got a vague answer that there was no availability. We ordered seafood fried rice through room service and were told 45 minutes. After an hour, it still hadn't arrived. I went downstairs and was told to wait another 40 minutes, but it still didn't come. Only after I called and expressed how frustrated I was did it arrive within 10 minutes. It all felt badly managed. There weren't many nearby dining options. At check-in, the restaurant hours were clearly listed, but when we arrived at the stated time, we were told it wasn't operating yet because of buffet preparations. In the end, we had to eat at the small noodle stall by the pool. Communication was difficult because many staff members spoke limited English, making it harder to resolve issues. While waiting for our flight, we sat briefly on a sofa near a spa area that wasn't operating. A staff member came over, looked at us and silently turned off all the lights without greeting us or explaining. It felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
