Bao Ngoc Diamond Hotel

The hotel is 500m from the main street and the Cao Bang waterfront, with eateries across the street since breakfast isn’t included. Housekeeping impressed me: they cleaned the room daily, replaced the towels and toothbrushes, and smoothed the bedsheets. I stayed four nights in this quiet, very clean and comfortable hotel, and wished I could stay longer. Highly recommended.

The owner was the best part of the stay. She let us leave our bags while we travelled the Cao Bang Loop, then use the shower when we came back. The room was comfortable, with a warm heating unit, a medium-firm, somewhat soft bed, and hot water that lasted a little under three minutes, less than average. I was a bit disappointed by the city view: it was only partial, through a balcony we couldn’t enter because it had slats instead of a floor. Still, I enjoyed the stay and was happy with our choice.

They arranged the Ban Gioc tour easily, and by 7am that same day we were on our way. Sir Tuan and his friend made it an amazing trip. The tour was flexible, but sir Tuan made sure we got to see and experience everything. They checked that we ate and got enough rest, and even treated us to something extra for lunch. Really awesome people. We had to check in at the Diamond Hotel a little after 4am. They were waiting before we arrived and kept reassuring us. The hotel is nicely situated and well maintained, with everything needed for a relaxing stay: a spacious room, cozy bed, neat shower, and Wi-fi ready. This place is very cool. I wish we could have stayed longer, and I’d choose it again 10/10 times.

We planned to stay six nights and ended up extending to 13. It’s quiet, spacious, clean, and the staff helped with our special requests. They can also arrange a taxi to visit the beautiful valleys, mountains, and waterfalls. People in town are very friendly, especially the children. We highly recommend it!
