Bao Bao Hotel

I liked the hotel itself. It was clean and pleasant, and the quiet location made for a comfortable stay. The other staff members also seemed friendly, polite, and respectful. Still, I checked out and moved elsewhere because of how the owner handled a scooter rental price discussion. He first quoted me a cheaper rate over the phone. I said I’d think about renting, then called the following day because I was considering staying longer and wanted to rent the bike. When I asked him to confirm the price, he gave me a higher one. After I questioned the change, he eventually lowered it a little, but not to the original quote. I kept asking why the price was different and had to repeat myself several times, yet he didn’t give me a clear explanation. Eventually he did agree to the discount he’d offered the day before. I tried contacting him and the other number listed on their Zalo accounts, too, but got no reply. During our phone call he also hung up on me. I didn’t rent the scooter, and decided to check out. The interaction felt unprofessional and focused on money over customer service. It’s a shame he was never available to talk in person. I suspect he might have been friendlier face to face. The whole experience left a bad taste, even though I genuinely liked the hotel. Transparency, consistency, and integrity matter to me. I’ve now spent the last two weeks at a nicer place in the area.

I had to book at short notice, and I was glad there was still a room available. It was very clean, and I could rent a motorbike for 150 per day. I was worried about getting to Ha tien port because I’d read online that there was no transport, but the owner arranged everything. Apparently transport is available, though only locals seem to know about it. That was especially helpful since I’m heading to phu quok next. I really appreciate everything here, especially the owners, and I’ll definitely come back.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were quite nice. Restaurants and shops are a short scooter ride away. The accommodation was as advertised and good value. My main issue was the noise: almost every night, guests or staff were loud, and it carried through because the rooms aren’t well insulated.

The host was so friendly and helpful, and the stay was fantastic. Really good value for the money.
