Con Dao Camping Hotel

The reception team were really friendly. I left Orson Hotel in the south of the island early because the service and cleanliness there were terrible, then stayed here. The hotel is right on a beautiful beach. The restaurant was okay.

The front desk team were supportive, even though I was there in low season and not all the staff were available. The pool had no attendant and wasn't clean. Breakfast was pretty basic, and not as good as at other four-star resorts I've stayed at, though the coffee was good. I picked Con Dao resort for its location at An Hai beach. The room was old but comfortable and had what my family needed, with a few small defects. Wi-Fi was very slow with high latency, so video calls and games didn't work.

We came back for smoothies and a swim on a second day, but Mr Walkie-talkie-Man made us feel unwelcome. He kept telling us where not to sit and not to go through the restaurant. It felt petty, but that's how it went. My girlfriend has been to Con Dao island three times and Con Dao resort four times. This last interaction really upset her. I'm sure Mr Walkie-talkie-Man won't miss our 130k a day receipts, but neither of us will come back to this beach. For shame. Thanks, everyone. Spend your money where you're welcome 🤗

Nick, the people Manager, was amazing. He helped with everything and felt like a real friend, if that's what you want. The service staff don't speak English, so communication can be difficult. The place is lovely, peaceful, and close to nature. My room was huge and super clean, with everything I needed. It's quite far from town, though it's easy to get there by motorbike and there's almost no traffic.
