Thien Tan Star Hotel

The staff were kind, welcoming, and quick to help, and the food came with plenty of choice and a smile. The hotel is right by the beach, with lovely views and the shore just steps away. A peaceful place with great hospitality, highly recommended.

The beach is the real draw here, just 20 metres from the room. Starfish often wash up there, and most are still alive, so please gently return them to the water. We spent a month here and were sad to leave. The rooms are basic but good value, the staff are friendly, and you can rent a motorbike. Bar 200 serves nice food, especially the egg fried rice, Hawaiian pizza, steak, fries, and Bolognese. One caution, the floor tiles get VERY slippery in the rain. We heard a refurbishment may happen soon. FANTASTIC LOCATION.

The beach in front is nice and the water was clean. We ate lunch and dinner at Bar 200, the hotel's restaurant, and the food was top notch. The rooms are basic, but everything we needed worked, including the air conditioning, hot water, and wifi. The staff were very pleasant and always ready to help. Not high-end, but enough for what we needed.

We came without a set plan and ended up adding two more nights, then still hated leaving. The place has some wear compared with its glory days a few decades ago, but it has lots of charm, lovely staff, and the island's best location. Breakfast is free and delicious, even for someone like me who doesn't usually eat breakfast. Bar 200 is attached and makes fantastic drinks, and the bartenders speak English. Rooms are serviced daily, and the gardener keeps the trees and flowers looking wonderful. He's my hero. The owners have two friendly dogs, which was a bonus since we miss ours. We'll DEFINITELY stay here again when we're back on the island.
