Muong Thanh Da Lat

The location is handy, about a 10-15 minute walk from the night market and central town. Our room got changed around twice because there weren’t enough rooms with two single beds, and the first one we were assigned had knocking sounds. The staff helped a lot despite a bit of a language barrier. One person moved our luggage and helped find a room that worked for us. Breakfast was pretty mediocre, and sometimes food was missing. Otherwise, the stay was okay.

The buffet was the low point, and it didn’t meet even my low expectations. The toaster was one of those awkward conveyor belt types, slow and hard to use, and we had to wait even though only one other family was at early breakfast. Both mornings, staff kept turning it on and off, so something seemed wrong with it. On the second morning there was no juice at all, only tea, water, and coffee. Vietnam has great coffee, but someone trying it here for the first time might wonder why people rave about Vietnamese coffee. My wife also noticed that the Phu Quoc branch had a wider Vietnamese breakfast selection. I’d actually planned to give five stars. The staff professionally arranged a surprise newlywed decoration, and the work was beautiful, almost like art. Our room was spacious and clean, with a nice garden and lobby, and the location was convenient near the lake and night market. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive.

The courtyard garden was a lovely part of this attractive period hotel, and the room was clean and nice. It’s well located near the lake and the heart of the city. Best of all were the staff, especially the people at reception, who were friendly, courteous, and helpful. My wife and I thank you, and hope we can return someday to your beautiful city and hotel.

The location worked well, near the lake and an easy walk into the city center. The rest of our two-week stay was disappointing enough that I nearly gave it two stars. Our room felt worn out, with dirty chairs and a filthy carpet. Breakfast came with the price, but it was repetitive, had little choice, and the food quality was poor. Wi-Fi was slow and kept cutting out. Cleaning meant fresh bathroom towels and two liters of water each day, but the bedsheets were changed just once during our stay. We also had a safety box that suddenly wouldn't open. Reception sent maintenance quickly, but they seemed unprepared to troubleshoot it. I suspected a dead battery. They tried several keys, then a second technician repeated that and attempted an external battery without checking the polarity. Opening it took a long time. We were told it would be repaired, but it never was.
