Zen Hoian Villa

The room was unbearably hot, and after two hours with the AC on, I still couldn't breathe comfortably. I had booked five nights, but chose another hotel without unpacking because the room wouldn't cool down and there was no ventilation. The woman at the front desk was kind when I arrived and carried my bags upstairs. There were lots of different bugs along the walls on the way to my room, and later I found little ants all over my bag, even though I hadn't taken anything out. She tried to help with the cooling remote, but said, “I really don’t know how to work it”. The system blew mildly cool air. When I took my things downstairs and explained the problem, the owner chased me to my ride, opened the door, stood over me, and made me pay for the few hours I was there. I told him and the woman again that the AC wasn't adequate and there was no ventilation, and that I hadn't dirtied the room, just sat on the bed for two hours. He leaned into the car with the door open, screamed that I had booked the room for 5 days, and made me feel unsafe and scared for my life. I said the website had falsely claimed the room had AC. I pulled out $25 and he walked away. When I canceled on booking’s website, he posted that my booking was canceled for free. This was the worst experience I've had in nearly a month in Vietnam. The hotel is on a busy, noisy street.
