Adela Boutique Hotel

There’s construction going on around the hotel right now, so if that bothers you, ask for a room with a small window facing the back. The hotel itself is lovely, especially compared with so many places that look pretty only on the outside. The staff were super helpful, the rooms and beds were comfy, and the pillows were great. There’s also a nice rooftop pool and a couple of weights for a quick workout.

There was some issue to deal with every day, and the stay was a really bad experience despite the great location. We paid extra for a better room, but heard water running inside the wall the whole time. The sliding door wouldn't close, so wind came howling in, and one day we returned to a huge puddle beside the bed. I still don't know where it came from. We had no hot water for six of our nine nights, and the AC stopped working several times. She moved us to another room, but its quality was worse. We were still willing to pay after all this and just asked if we could check out two hours late because of our late flight. They couldn't allow that or offer any discount for the poor service. I'll never stay here again.

The room was comfortable, and the hotel is in a handy spot near the beach and a lovely area. It's away from the noisy main street, too. Most of it was top notch, though the gym could use a little refresh.

If they'd sorted out the hot water, this would have been a five-star stay. We went three nights without any, even after asking for it to be fixed. There was no WiFi in my daughter's room, and no EFTPOS for payment, though they were quick to charge us for two 300 ml bottles of water from the room. Still, it was a flash, great hotel otherwise.
