Ancient River Villa was a delightful place to stay, with comfortable beds and a spot perfectly between old town and the beach. The owner lent us a bike for several days and even helped sort things out with our Grab driver when I left the room keys in his car. We stayed three nights, and I wouldn’t let Elyse’s negative review put you off.

At 7 am on check-in day, she messaged to say she was cancelling my booking because another guest wanted the room. My friend and I had to find somewhere else at the last minute, and she offered no help. I told her I was disappointed and stressed about finding another place, but she didn’t even reply. Cancelling the day you arrive because someone else wants the room is really unreliable.

The villa is in a quiet area, not too far from the old town or the beach. Our spacious room had a large balcony facing the river, and the small pool was clean. There’s also a nearby paddy field you can explore by bicycle. We could hear noise from outside and from the rooms above us very clearly. Even so, we had a good experience.

The owner and host was super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and nice, and the laundry and breakfast services were good. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood about halfway between the beach and old town, with free bicycles that make getting around easy. A great place to stay.

The rooms were clean, the location was amazing, and the lady was lovely. We’d seen a bad review beforehand, but we’re glad we didn’t trust it. We had an amazing experience here, really, everything was great.
