Balcona Hotel Da Nang Hotel

Our balcony faced the strip along Da Nang beach, and we were lucky to get top-floor room 1703a. The beach is right across the road, and everything we needed was close by, so I’d stay here again. I loved the breakfast and the free afternoon tea voucher. Lee gave me a very nice, affordable massage, and Sophia at the desk was fabulous when booking our tour. The staff really try to please. I find smaller places care more than big-name resorts, where it seems they don’t care. The place is starting to show some wear. The breakfast area has a stunning beach view, but the windows are all closed. It would be nice if they opened it up more like an alfresco space. I’d also add French toast or waffles, plus more fruit and yoghurt options at breakfast.

The sea view from our balcony was amazing, and the room was huge. For what we paid, the value was fantastic. The staff were pleasant and welcoming the whole time, and even packed some breakfast items for us when we had to leave early. The room and bathroom were spacious and spotless. The pool and gym both had great sea views too. We also got a complimentary afternoon tea set and a discount at the in-house Spa, which made an already lovely stay even nicer. Kudos to the whole Balcona team.

I liked having a secure, spacious underground spot for my motorcycle, and the buffet breakfast had plenty of choice. The dining room was big enough that we could always find a table. We also enjoyed the rooftop pool and its sea view. We were on the 15th floor, with a fabulous view of the sea. Two things cost the hotel a star for me. The balcony lights were out of my control and switched off at 10.30 pm, so it felt as though they were there to advertise the hotel to passers-by instead of letting guests enjoy the view with the curtains open. Also, the large bed was two mattresses pushed together. As a couple, you feel the gap if you try to cuddle in the middle. I understand this lets hotels change rooms between twin and double setups, but it’s less comfortable for anyone wanting a double bed.

The food was delicious, with plenty of variety, and the restaurant service was quick and friendly. Hotel Balcona was also in a convenient spot for exploring the city, while still being peaceful enough to relax. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with everything I needed. The staff were warm, welcoming and ready to help, and their genuine care and attention to detail really stood out. I’d highly recommend Hotel Balcona and will definitely come back on my next trip.
