The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the place is close to everything.

The staff were nice, and the location was good.

What’s the point of having reception if neither the men nor the women there will answer a question? They just ignore guests. The room wasn’t great, though I could have put up with that. Their attitude and the way they handled things were unacceptable.

The bed in room 302 had stains on the sheets, and I could feel the springs through it. Ventilation was poor, even with the window open, because the wall sits right beside the outdoor AC unit. Its constant noise came through the weak soundproofing. After lying down, I expected another groggy morning. For a place rated three stars, this was unacceptable. In name only, perhaps it’s a one-star hotel. I’m exhausted from describing it, so I’ll stop here, though there were plenty more downsides. This place is hopeless, and it left me with a terrible impression during a trip that had otherwise included Vietnam’s delicious food, sightseeing, and friendly people. I absolutely cannot recommend staying here. The trouble started on my first day: the air conditioner was covered in mold, enough to make me worry about getting a respiratory illness. I asked to move from room 202. It was a weekday and there were other rooms and spare keys available, but they put me in room 201, which was very noisy from the road. It was late, so I slept with earphones in, but didn’t wake up refreshed. I had a booking to return after visiting Hoi An, so I asked them to thoroughly clean the AC in a quiet room. When I came back, room 202 was still covered in mold. I asked to switch again. A young male employee who seemed annoyed said no other rooms were available except expensive ones, and asked whether it was fine since they’d cleaned the outside of the unit. I explained that I’d called the manager and shown a photo from two days earlier, and had asked for a proper cleaning. Instead of checking the room carefully or apologizing, he spoke angrily and made excuses: they hadn’t done it, there were no rooms, and they’d have to wake someone in another room. His manner was arrogant and had no basic courtesy. I didn’t think I could get anywhere with him, so despite the late hour I called the manager and said the dirty AC was the hotel’s fault and they needed to act. After that conversation, they showed me room 402, one floor up and the same type, and told me to inspect its AC. I then chose room 302. I plan to make a strong complaint to the hotel tomorrow about all this. I rarely write reviews, but once I started, I went into detail. I’m giving up sleep to write this because I’m so stunned and angry. The staff member was also arrogant and lied. Even though I’d told them about my stay and there had been a handover at check-in, they checked my passport again about the handover details, as if taking revenge on me. They never apologized for the double standard, the conceit, or their lack of manners. Later they told me to sleep in the basement because they had to go out at night. It was late and I didn’t want a fight, so I agreed. When I checked, getting in meant crouching through a half-open window. It felt like they were treating a customer like a dog or pig. This hotel has infuriated me in so many ways. If an AC is this moldy, it seems like an easy way to end up with a sore throat or bronchitis on vacation. Please avoid this hotel under any circumstances. Tourists’ limited time and chance to relax are worth more than money, and the inexperienced, arrogant service here can cause serious inconvenience.
