We enjoyed living here for a year and a half. It’s close to the beach, the staff are great, the downstairs security guards are helpful, and the apartment gets cleaned weekly. There was daytime and nighttime noise, including karaoke, but that’s part of living in Vietnam. The checkout, though, was a very bad ending. I’m sharing this so future residents know what happened. We had two cats and they caused no damage, but a few days before checkout the apartment staff said they had damaged the curtains. On checkout day, the landlord and curtain tailor came in to inspect. The tailor measured them, and the landlord said two curtains on separate windows were damaged. Then we were told the tailor didn’t have the fabric to replace just those two, so all seven curtains in the house had to be replaced. That made no sense to me, my partner, or the friends with us. If the tailor already lacked the fabric, why had staff said earlier that she could repair them? My Vietnamese friend pointed out that the contract didn’t say we had to replace curtains at all. The landlord wouldn’t budge, and honestly seemed to want new curtains for the apartment. My friend said the landlord was making rude remarks about us, which felt very unprofessional. The landlord did reduce the charge a little, but we still had to pay most of the cost of all seven curtains, even though she said only two were damaged. We felt scammed and most of our deposit was taken when nothing was damaged, so they could get new curtains for the next resident. Take photos when you first move in.
