Én Retreat Hoi An

After traveling across Vietnam for a while, I needed somewhere to properly rest, and EN Resort Hoi An did the job. I came away feeling rested and refreshed. The room was simple but lovely, and that bathtub was just what I wanted after all those days on the road.

With check-in only a day away, I still don't have a clear answer or timeline. The hotel told me one of the two rooms I booked for tomorrow is damaged. Their options were to combine both bookings into one larger room or move the damaged-room booking to a bigger room for an extra charge. I asked the booking app's customer service to help get a proper resolution, but they told me to deal directly with the hotel. The whole thing is frustrating and disappointing, especially at such short notice.

When I went back the next day to ask what was happening, there was no receptionist. The only person there was a guard who didn't speak English and wouldn't give me contact details for anyone in charge. I still haven't received confirmation that the reservation was canceled. It started with the room we had booked being unavailable. The replacement room was full of mold, so we asked to cancel. They said they'd cancel it free of charge, which was obviously what should happen. The service was awful. Don't book here.

We asked for a heater because we were cold, and they just shrugged and said they didn't have one. The people at reception were intoxicated. Disgusting place, and that's the attitude you get.
