Golden Lantern Homestay Hoi An

The place feels welcoming and has a great style, decor, and atmosphere. I stayed two nights and found it really clean, with a well-kept garden. The women who run it are kind and helpful, and I felt at home. Also, the shower was the best! One morning I woke up to a cute frog in my room; the next day, there was an adorable sweet cat on the floor. They can help with food, tour information and arrangements, visa extensions, and laundry. The food they make is delicious, and the patio and reception area has hammocks and beds where you can relax, chat, or read. We also met the very sweet family. The kids taught us a few basic Vietnamese words, and the sisters shared some really good tips about Vietnam. It’s a little outside the center, but you can rent a bicycle or take a Grab or taxi. HoiAn is very touristy, so I liked being able to relax somewhere with almost no tourists around. I can’t wait to come back and unwind at Golden Lantern in Hoian!

Golden Lantern Homestay is an affordable option for travelers in Hoi An, about 10 minutes from the main tourist attractions. Public transport and bicycles make it easy to get around, and since local people live next door, it doesn’t feel like you’re stuck in a tourist zone. Our room could sleep four, with one queen bed and a bunk bed. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming, and helped us with lots of information about nearby attractions. We had breakfast in the reception area, which has comfortable seating. We were there on the weekend, so we avoided the kindergarten’s morning music session. I’d recommend this homestay for its location and polite staff.

The preschool next door can get noisy, but staying here still gives you a local experience worth having. The family is incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and goes out of its way to make guests comfortable and give them an authentic stay. The rooms are beautiful and the food is delicious. Very highly recommend!

The family made us feel very welcome, and the spotless rooms have a lovely traditional style. It was a great way to experience the local surroundings. The road and school can be noisy at times, and cycling to the center of Hoian takes about 25 minutes.
