Golden Light Hotel

When my trip ran into a few snags, everyone from the front desk and cleaning team to security was kind, understanding, and professional. My room stayed spotless, even when I forgot the “do not disturb” sign. Laundry was quick and efficient, and I always felt my bicycle was safely looked after.

The room was covered in mold and smelled strange. They tried to mask it with chemical air freshener, but after just two minutes in there, both of us had headaches. We asked to move and were shown four other rooms with the same problem. That made it clear to us that the issue was with the hotel, not just our room. We stayed one night while looking for somewhere else, since a moldy roof seemed better than no roof, though I even question that now. Because we’d booked without a refund option, we lost all the money for those nights. The breakfast was bland, the kitchen was dirty, and we ended up eating elsewhere. The mold and damp rooms could cause serious health problems, so don’t stay longer than two nights. This was the worst experience of our whole trip. The staff were super helpful and kind, and the beach was close, but Da Nang city is much prettier than the beach, so I’d recommend a hotel there instead.

Cheap and cheerful, and close to the beach. We picked a room without a window, but we’re used to inside cabins on cruise ships, so it didn’t bother us. There was a fridge in the room, and water, tea, and coffee were replenished daily. Breakfast had a selection of buffet food.

Thuỷ at the front desk made the biggest difference for me. She was so friendly, kind, and hospitable, and helped my stay go smoothly. The room was clean, and the hotel is right by the beach, with lots of clean, good restaurants nearby. I had an amazing stay.
