Green Island Hoian Villa

It’s peaceful here since it’s outside the city, and you can rent bikes or walk into town in about 10 minutes. The location itself isn’t that great, though. The rooms were clean with huge beds, and the pool was lovely, clean, and had sunbeds. Breakfast was okay. The friendly staff gave us recommendations. There were some mosquitoes in the bathroom because the window couldn’t be closed, but shutting the door kept them from spreading.

Hong, the manager, cooked us a special breakfast every morning because we’re vegan. She speaks good English and gave us personal attention. She also arranged a ride to Da Nang when we left, for less than the Grab taxi. We stayed a week in the Deluxe Double Room with balcony, which was huge and comfortable, with a balcony at both the front and the back. The pool was a real treat, very clean and a decent size compared with other hotel pools we’ve seen. We’re traveling around Vietnam, and Green Island Villa has been the cleanest and most comfortable place we’ve stayed so far. We’ll definitely choose Green Island Villa again when we return to Hoi An.

Our booking for two rooms was cancelled at the last minute, without proper notice or any support. Being in an unfamiliar country with family made the situation very stressful and difficult. The staff didn’t properly explain what had happened or help us find somewhere else. Cancelling a confirmed booking this way felt irresponsible and highly unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially to anyone traveling from another country. Think twice before booking here.

The worst part was a drunk guest trying to get into my room at 3am. He tried the other rooms on the floor too, but kept kicking at my door and trying to break it open. There was no staff member around to deal with it. The hotel seems to be run by only two people, which, in my opinion, isn’t enough. I took a while to decide whether to leave this feedback, but other guests shouldn’t have to go through what I did, and the hotel needs to take responsibility before something escalates. It’s also noisy, with karaoke across the street and a chicken farm nearby. The one person I appreciated was the woman at reception, who really did her best to keep the place running, but her efforts alone aren’t enough.
