We checked the room before booking in, and I’m glad we did. The photos seemed to show a habitable, maybe even beautiful place, but what we found looked derelict, like a set for a zombie film. The rooms were battered and run down. The front desk woman was asleep behind the desk when we arrived, so we waited until she appeared, then she handed us a key and told us to look at the room before checking in. Getting there meant going through narrow corridors full of cockroaches, with a smell of smoke and rubbish. Inside, cupboards, drawers, and counters were hanging off the walls. The windows were wide open in the 40-degree heat because the AC had stopped working long ago. The neatly folded bed was hard as a rock and seemed to hide all kinds of bugs. The surfaces were dirty and crawling with critters, and the shower was filthy and crusted over. I took a few pictures, then the woman came back and we told her we couldn’t stay. She apologized and kept saying sorry, and said she knew it was bad. Avoid this place. It won’t refund you or clean a room. It feels like a scam and a health and safety concern.

The lobby and rooms feel no better than a budget motel, and the whole property is worn out and unkempt. Don’t trust the photos on Google or the hotel booking sites. They’re completely misleading.

I booked four days ahead for a 2 pm check-in and arrived at 1. They told me to wait and leave my bags, so I went out for a few hours. When I came back at 6 pm, they still had no room for me. Apparently there were renovations. Why sell a room that’s being renovated? The staff were unhelpful and didn’t seem to care, and there was never anyone at reception. I only needed a cheap night before a sleeper train, but there was no professionalism at all. They tried to charge me for the night, and I left by taxi furious and exhausted. If you charge me the smelly 9 euro, I’ll come collect it within 48 hours. Avoid at all costs.
