Han Riverine Hotel & Cafeteria DaNang

A cafe downstairs, a nice view, clean rooms, and fresh towels every day made this a really good-value stay. The spot is right among the tourist sights, with plenty of cafes, massage places, and a market just a couple of blocks away. I hadn't stayed somewhere without a reception before; only the person looking after the hotel was available, but they were around during the day and very kind and helpful. A great cheap place to stay.

My three-night visit was enjoyable. The room was clean and a decent size, the internet was fast, and evenings and nights were quiet. Getting in with the lock box was easy, and they replied promptly on WhatsApp. Some renovation noise started around 08:00 on the first morning, which annoyed me, but management apologized and the following day was quiet.

A lively cafe at the hotel stays open until midnight, and the place is right beside a busy highway, so there can be some noise. Still, it's a good choice if you're trying to save money.

The one thing that got in the way of relaxing was the karaoke nearby. Around 3:30p.m. I was trying to read, and there was this male voice yelling intermittently. I barely heard music or any women singing. I noticed that kind of overbearing Vietnamese dude "singing" seemed a recurring thing in Vietnam. Go figure! The rest was a great deal: city-center location, restaurants along the river walk within walking distance, and an easy Airbnb-style lockbox check-in. Rooms are clean, with new furniture and a few small scratched paint spots on the walls. I'm here as a guest, not an inspector.
