Hoi An Mercy Homestay

What made Mercy Homestay special for me was the conversations with the hosts. The place is clean, has a local feel, and is well located without being too close to all the bustle. They can arrange breakfast on request, and offer activities too. I've reviewed those on their other page!

The treehouse was spotless, with a cozy bed where we slept better than we have in years. We stayed beside the river, surrounded by lush gardens and jungle, with crickets, rustling leaves, and gentle rain all around. It felt like a magical, rustic escape from Hoi An's crowds. Our hosts, Toc and Xuan, made the trip unforgettable. Xuan took us cycling through the coconut village, where we saw water buffalos and learned about local life. When sudden rain came, a kind shrimp farmer let us take shelter. Toc arranged a river fishing trip with a BBQ on the boat, an unforgettable meal in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We also had a philosophical conversation and learned how Vietnamese culture differs from ours in ways we really appreciated. They even helped dry our soaked shoes after our Monkey Island trip. The neighbor's adorable dog kept us company too. Pure bliss, and highly recommended! 🙏❤️

The boat fishing trip with a BBQ was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us, and Spring and her family made us feel so welcome. One morning we even biked along to pick up her son from school. It's a great location if you want to stay just outside the busy area.

Spring was a kind, helpful host, and we had a great time biking through the rice fields, visiting the Buddhist temple, taking a sunrise ride, and swimming in the ocean. We also went on a boat trip at sunset, fished, caught crabs, tried basket boats, and had a delicious BBQ on the water. Such a lovely evening. The rustic treehouse is comfortable and authentic, with good beds, a good bathroom, useful facilities, and a beautiful garden. It's a lovely way to be surrounded by greenery outside town. You may hear chickens and insects, and the curtains don't block out all the light at night. Earplugs and an eye mask could help if those things bother you, but they didn't affect our stay. This isn't a five-star hotel. It's a wonderful chance to experience another side of Hoi An, and I'd highly recommend it.
