Hoi An Pho Library Hotel

There’s local street food just a block away, and breakfast with one drink is included. It was good, though not great. The staff were pleasant and keen to help us find our way around Hoi An. Our room was clean, with lovely views of the intersection and the hotel across the way. The beds were soft and comfortable, a welcome change from the wooden-plank sort you find in many places.

We played a few games of pool at the table in reception, which was nice, and the young woman at the desk was welcoming and polite. It works as a place for a short stay, but the WiFi was terrible and the breakfast really didn’t impress us.

The staff were so sweet and helpful, and there’s a pool table in the lobby that’s nice to hang out by. The rooms are big, with good AC, a clean bathroom, and working hot and cold water. The walls are thin, though, and can be annoying. Sometimes the towels smell odd, but you can ask the desk for fresh ones. It’s very central and still affordable. Walking to the ancient town takes about 4 minutes, with shops and lanterns along the way. Food spots are close by, and there’s reasonably priced motorbike and bike rental across the street, with room to bargain. I’d get a bike for 30k, it’s quicker and fun. Breakfast is the weak spot: one small menu order and a drink, that’s all. I’d still recommend staying here. More like 4.5 stars.

The hotel could use some basic cosmetic work, but for the price it’s a great deal. The staff are amazing, the bed is comfortable, the room is clean, and the location is great. Breakfast is pretty good too.
