Hotel Chiem Hoian

The breakfast was lovely, and it was nice not having to wonder how long food had been sitting out on a buffet at a bigger hotel. They had the best coconut coffee we tried in Vietnam. The hotel is lovely, very close to the beach, and the staff were really helpful.

I hate leaving a bad review, but I’m writing this for travelers like me who want to know what to expect. This didn’t feel like a four-star hotel to us, it felt like a hostel. We prefer small, comfortable hotels over big chains, but hostels aren’t what we look for. There was no restaurant, despite it being advertised. Breakfast was à la carte and had to be ordered the night before. The rooms were tiny, with no privacy because people in the lobby or on the street could see inside. When you book a villa, you expect privacy. We had reserved five nights but left after one. They refunded only a third of the total we paid. We asked for a refund because we hadn’t received what we paid for. If there’s no restaurant, for example, don’t advertise one. We moved to Little Oasis Hotel, another small hotel, and thank goodness we did. It saved our stay.

The reception girls were so friendly and lovely, and the housekeeping staff brought smiles and positive energy everywhere. The property is about two years old, very well maintained, clean, and comfortable, just a few steps from the beach. I liked the tasteful decor and quality materials throughout, with no cheap shortcuts. The beds, pillows, and duvets were comfortable for a deep sleep. Laundry was quick and affordable too. It’s an ideal spot to escape the city bustle and unwind, and only a short 10-minute Grab ride to Hoi An. I’ll definitely return to Chiem! Breakfast is the one thing I’d improve. The selection felt limited and repetitive, especially over a week or more. Next time I’ll try nearby breakfast options, and then my stay will be perfect.

Just a short walk from the beach, and it felt peaceful and relaxed inside. Our ocean-view room was so clean and beautifully finished. The staff were kind and helpful, going above and beyond to make us comfortable. Definitely the best hotel in the area, in my view. I’d recommend it to my friends!
