Ki No Homestay

The peaceful setting and friendly neighbors made Ki No a 5/5 stay for me. I spent a week there and found it hard to leave. Thao is such a lovely host, often inviting me to share a meal and always ready to answer questions. This has been one of my favorite homestays so far, and I can only recommend it.

Just a five-minute walk from a beautiful beach, Ki No Homestay has clean rooms and a charming feel. The hosts were so attentive and welcoming that they made the stay feel unforgettable. A lovely hidden paradise.

I wanted somewhere calmer, away from the crowds, and this was just right. The family was caring and kind, so I felt at home straight away. My room was spacious, with lovely natural light and pretty modern furniture.

Ki No sits on the outskirts of Cau Dai, where it feels quieter, but getting into the busy city is an easy ride. I found the neighborhood friendly and helpful, with reasonable prices and generally good English. It felt like a good balance, not a sanitized resort area or a backpacker party district. What makes the place feel like a real homestay is that Thảo's family lives there. I walked in once and interrupted her teenage daughter making a snack in the kitchen. She asked me to wait while she called her mom. Her son's friends were often in the living room chatting or on their phones, and some were keen to practice English. Thảo would offer me the snacks she was making for them, from fresh fruit to an iced sweet bean pudding I can't remember the name of but really liked. After so much solo travel, that warmth was a welcome change. Thảo was also the most helpful host I've had. Her English was great, and we managed several good conversations even with my busy schedule. I wasn't there long, but we connected quickly. She knows Hoi An well after a whole adult life working in hospitality there, and helped with shuttles, activity suggestions, train procedures, and questions about the area and how it has changed. Ki No has been my favorite homestay so far. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
