Stella Maris Beach Danang

The breakfast buffet was huge, tasty, and kept fresh, with things replenished right away. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and our booking for two adults included a 60-minute massage each plus two rooftop drinks. They provided a private shuttle from the airport and back, and even drove us to our next hotel, 8km away, instead of taking us to the airport. The fitness center was the one letdown, very small and with old equipment.

The highlight of our four nights at Stella Maris was the staff. Everyone from the doorman through housekeeping was friendly, patient, and attentive. Linh and Mi at the front desk looked after us so warmly and went well beyond what we expected. They made the stay feel special and memorable. We had a comfortable, clean corner suite with a nice view over the beach and coastline. There was construction across the road and traffic noise below, but we got used to it. Breakfast had a good range and was tasty. The rooftop bar and gym felt a bit worn and could use better upkeep. The music was awful, with what sounded like broken speakers or sound equipment, though the place has potential.

Vietnam is loud, and that energy is part of what gives the city and country their character. If noise bothers you, you’d need a five-star place outside the city, but then you’d miss that local feel. 😎 We booked two suites, both spacious, with beautiful views of Da Nang beach. The rooms stayed clean and I have no complaints. Staff were friendly and helpful all the way from airport pickup to reception, breakfast, and the bar. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and there’s food everywhere nearby, from cheap eats to fine dining.

The bathroom setup was hard to get used to. The shower had no door, so water splashed everywhere, and the sink was out in the open, which made it awkward to use. I know that’s the design, but I’m not sure every room is the same. There was also construction next door, with some disturbance early in the morning. I barely spent time in the room, and hope that won’t be an issue on a future stay. Neither of those things spoiled the experience for me. I loved being right by the beach. For a Da Nang trip focused on beach time, the location is hard to beat, and markets and dragon bridge are a reasonable distance away on foot or by Grab. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices for days out. The rooftop lounge and pool were nice for relaxing or swimming, with a lovely beach view. The gym was okay, with limited variety but enough for a basic workout. My room was clean, nice, and had all the amenities I needed. I spent four nights at Stella Maris on my first visit to Da Nang, and the welcoming smiles and kind service made it a very pleasant stay. They even left a mini birthday cake at the start, a lovely touch. Daisy deserves a special mention for her smile and politeness each morning, as did the rest of the friendly staff. I’m glad I stayed here, and would hope to return when I’m back in Vietnam.
