KOVA Diamond Hotel

We left after only a few hours on the day we arrived, so we never spent a night there. The hotel eventually agreed to refund us after a long discussion, which we appreciated, though sorting it out took a lot of time and added stress. The problems started with the room. We had paid in advance for a superior room, but it had no window to the outside. Its only window opened onto an interior hallway that smelled strongly of smoke, something we hadn’t been told when booking. The room was also visibly dirty: the sheets were very soiled, the towels had holes, there was a partly used toilet roll, and a damp smell lingered. The walls showed signs of moisture, and the air conditioning seemed to circulate stale, unpleasant air. We spoke to reception. The staff were polite, but the other rooms they showed us had the same cleanliness and maintenance problems, and none seemed to match the standard shown online. The room didn’t live up to the quality advertised, especially when it came to the condition and lack of an exterior window. The whole experience was extremely disappointing, and we hope the hotel takes the feedback seriously.

The location was good, but the room and pool were very dirty. The sheets in my room were soiled when I checked in, and the replacements I asked for were dirty too. There was grime on the walls and bathtub, and asking for toilet paper made me feel like a nuisance. Their idea of cleaning seemed to be taking out the rubbish, folding the blanket without making the bed, and swapping the towels for ones with holes.

The view was lovely when you booked a room that came with one, and that was the one thing I really liked. But the room itself felt old and damp, with a filthy bidet spray and worn towels. I even found rubbish in a drawer, probably left behind by the previous guest. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The location near the beach is the main thing this place has going for it. In the first room, the cup tray was stained brown, the showerhead was covered in mildew, there was hair in the sink, and the room smelled damp. The tub felt greasy, like baby oil, and still had stuff in it, so it didn’t seem to have been properly cleaned between guests. The towels were old too. We asked to change rooms, but the replacement had the same issues except for the greasy tub. The room change was awkward as well: a staff member first opened the wrong room, where a guest was staying. The next day, though, they improved the service and actually cleaned our room.
