Sai Gon Ha Tien Hotel

The location makes it easy to get to both the city center and ferry terminal, and the staff are competent and helpful. We were grateful they let us check in early without any problem. I highly recommend this hotel. You definitely won't be disappointed.

The staff were very kind, and the place was clean with lots of amenities. The shower had hot water. My street-facing window could get noisy, but it was quiet at night, so I had no issues.

Update, March 2026: We were back in Ha Tien and noticed the hotel had deteriorated quite a bit. The nice terrace out front, where you could have drinks, lunch, or dinner, is gone. We didn't go inside, but the area outside looked unpleasant when we walked past. On our earlier stay, it was a fairly new hotel on the corner of two streets, with a large, lovely terrace opposite the river. Our room was quite spacious, with two 120 cm beds and reasonably good sheets and duvets. They were fairly comfortable, though there was no bedside lamp. There was also a small fridge, a kettle, cups, and coffee and tea sachets. The room was quiet except when people talked in the corridor. The bathroom was narrow, and the glass partition between the shower and toilet covered only about two-thirds of its length. There was no drain by the shower, so water went around the glass, past the toilet, and eventually to the drain. After a shower, the whole floor was wet. The toilet was an old, low, small model, a bit uncomfortable for foreigners. Everything was clean, and extra towels or pillows arrived right away when we asked. There was a little kitchen and a bar serving the terrace, but the food and drinks were quite poor and only small dishes were available. We ordered medium-rare beef, hoping it wouldn't be tough, but it was almost impossible to cut with a knife. They had a very good Italian espresso machine, but the staff didn't know how to use it and only served single espresso shots. Mr. Steve (VN: Hung), the general manager, speaks English easily and fluently. He's wonderful at providing good service and making for an enjoyable stay, and he welcomes feedback, asking detailed questions about each comment from customers. All in all, I'd give this 2/3-star hotel 5/5 for Vietnamese guests and 4/5 for more demanding guests like many foreigners.

Just steps from the market and its delicious street food, the hotel has clean, shiny rooms with very spacious beds. The staff were so welcoming and could speak different languages to help guests. For service, I'd give them 6/5 stars.
