Lagom Apartment & Hotel

I stayed for two weeks in a studio set in a quiet alley, but beaches, restaurants, and mini marts were all within walking distance. It was peaceful without being inconvenient. Inside, I had everything I like: a small kitchenette, fridge, Smart TV, and fast Wi-Fi. Everyone on the team was incredibly friendly and willing to help, and they really made me feel welcome. I'd definitely rebook next trip.

The design has a cool, modern character, the location is convenient, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful when sorting out issues. I also appreciated the flexible cancellation policy, which felt guest-friendly and professional. Lagom Apartment & Hotel has a lot of potential. But hygiene and maintenance were serious problems. The room wasn't clean, smelled unpleasant, and had visible mold. The walls were dirty, there was hair in several places, and the kitchenette felt unhygienic. The cutlery, cups, and plates weren't clean, and there was dirt inside the cupboards. The refrigerator had crumbs and signs of mold. The toilet was dirty too, with visible urine splashes, which made the stay uncomfortable. With proper cleaning and upkeep this could be a genuinely great place, but cleanliness needs serious improvement before I could recommend it.

A few positives first: the location is excellent, the front desk staff were helpful when resolving some issues, and the cat is cute. The cleanliness was the biggest problem. We saw three different rooms, and all had issues, especially the bathrooms. The bedrooms and beds were clean, but the bathroom was poorly maintained, the walls were grimy, and hair was left around. Seeing someone else's hair throughout an apartment felt unpleasant. Noise was another problem. Across the road, cockerels woke us before sunrise every morning and kept going for hours, leaving us sleep deprived. The hotel should warn guests and provide earplugs. Building work was also very loud during the day. Both rooms we stayed in developed a very bad drain smell in the bathroom after about a day. It got so bad that we brushed our teeth in the kitchen to avoid it. The price felt too high for what we got, given how poorly maintained the facilities were. Both rooms had rusty drying racks that left rust stains on our clothes, so we still had to take laundry to a laundry place. The toilet spray pipes leaked in both bathrooms. There was mildew or mould, a filthy bathroom sink, a ball of hair in the shower drain, and a bad smell on the couch. This is a block of apartments run as a hotel, not a homestay. There's no room cleaning, and you have to wash all the dishes at checkout or pay a fee. For the same price, you can stay in a five star boutique hotel in Da Nang with room service, daily cleaning, fresh towels, and clean facilities. I don't understand the hotel's good reviews, and they seem very suspicious.

There were heaps of restaurants, shops, cafes, and bars within walking distance, and the beach was nearby too. The staff were friendly enough. The pool looked nice, though the weather wasn't great while we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy it. Our stay was perfect, spacious, clean, and comfortable. Would love to come back and stay longer.
