The beds were decent and the view was good, but I'd never return. The staff didn't acknowledge us when we came through the doors, and our stay left a stain on our time in Da Nang. We'd booked a king bed but were told on arrival none were available. They put us in a double room with an extra single bed instead, even though there were only two of us and we only needed one bed. They wouldn't lower the price or offer free late checkout. The TV didn't work, which was disappointing since we wanted a quiet movie night after busy tours. We reported it and were told it would be fixed the next day, but four days later it still wasn't working and they still wouldn't compensate us. We had to give our room number just to ask for a roll of toilet paper, as it seemed they only gave one roll per day. Hot water took 15-20 minutes of running the shower to arrive. On the first day I called reception to ask if there was a switch, since some hotels have one. They told me to wait 15 minutes and hung up. When we were leaving, our driver was waiting, but the staff made us wait 15 minutes so they could check the room. I've never had that happen anywhere else. We've stayed in much cheaper low-budget places in the north and expected little, but got much better service there.

The room we got wasn't the one we'd booked, and my partner and I ended up in two single beds. The shower barely worked, there was no hot water, and people were smoking in the hallway. Housekeeping pounded on our door at 7:30 in the morning and pushed their way in. The reviews don't seem trustworthy to me. I've never been this disappointed by a hotel. Don't book here. The minimart next door is overpriced too.

The only good thing was being right across from the beach. Our room was dirty, the AC was broken, and the bathroom was missing its key lock. There was no soap, and no complimentary tea or coffee. Breakfast was awful, especially for vegans. It felt like the hotel was run on the bare minimum while management charged guests hefty amounts for things like broken soap cases. We were unlucky to get this hotel through our tour program. There are much better places nearby for about the same price, and the stay was very unpleasant.

My family and I travel often, and we usually try to stay positive, but our experience at De Lamour Hotel left me feeling I had to be honest. The hotel is at 46 Đường võ nguyên giáp, Mân Thái, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam. At checkout, the female manager accused my 17-year-old and me of breaking a ceramic soap dispenser and taking two water bottles, in front of people in the lobby. We denied breaking anything and asked to see the damage. The bathroom dispenser was intact and working. The maintenance man seemed more apologetic than the manager, who apologized for the “misunderstanding” but still charged us 20,000 Dong for two waters. Four similar-looking bottles had been in the room, with two supposedly free each day. We'd used four over two days, as well as water we'd bought ourselves, and it wasn't clear at a glance which bottles were meant to be free. The charge for the supposedly broken dispenser was removed when they saw it was unbroken. The two charged bottles were worth less than half a dollar, but the accusations and attempted charges made the whole thing feel like a scam. Any business could have let such a small amount go and spared its paying customers that treatment. We'd also asked for a privacy sign because staff came banging and entering in the morning while we were asleep, and we had to yell several times. We did get fresh towels on the second day, but no free water was left for us. At checkout they offered us two bottles they said were free, since they hadn't left them in the room or by the door. I declined them. It was the principle, after the false accusations and charges, that mattered to me. The people of Vietnam are among our family's favorites. We love Vietnam and find its people respectful and genuine. This business doesn't represent our experiences with the country or its people. The management didn't seem to understand that they'd insulted us or how to make things right. We were supposed to return two days later after staying elsewhere, but found more reputable places instead. Save yourself the headache. The service was horrible, and there are friendlier places at the same price or less. Best wishes to fellow travelers.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was decent enough. There's no bar or much atmosphere. I booked it with a flight through trip.com and stayed just one day before heading to Ally beach at Hoi An, which was excellent.
