Lupin Boutique Hotel

Huong (H-U-O-N-G) at reception was genuinely kind and helpful. She’s the reason I extended my stay by another week. The room was spacious and had a stunning view, lovely natural light, a full-size refrigerator, and a bathtub with a window above it. Motorbike rentals were handy too. The design is beautiful, and the layout and light have real potential. But over two weeks at Lupin Boutique Hotel, the day-to-day issues started to outweigh that appeal. The Wi-Fi was unstable every day, which was a major problem for me working online. Booking.com listed a kitchen, but I was told on arrival there wasn’t one. After I pushed, they provided some cutlery and dishes. Kitchen cleaning was inconsistent, and when dishes were washed, they were left wet and stacked. A wet pan stuck to the plate below it, and when I lifted the pan the plate fell and broke. I was told I’d be charged 300,000 VND. I was also asked to pay for a towel with an ordinary dinner stain from wiping my mouth and hands. If stained towels incur a charge, that policy should be clearly stated on Booking.com. The towels were often thin and tattered, sometimes I didn’t get the right number of towels or a bath mat, and cleaning was hit or miss. The toilet leaked every day and left a puddle on the bathroom floor. I reported it twice, but it was never fixed. The owner offered a discount on my last day after I mentioned writing a review. I appreciated the gesture, but the maintenance, cleaning, linen quality, and clear policies need attention before guests have to raise them. I wanted to love this stay because the room, view, and natural light were beautiful, and Huong made a difference. There’s potential here, but for now it falls short.
