Minh Toan SAFI Ocean Hotel

The staff were polite, professional, and helpful throughout, and the hotel’s beachside location is a real plus. I found the sea-view room pleasant and practical, with a comfortable size and a king bed that let us sleep well. Breakfast was adequate, though it leaned toward Asian dishes. Anyone wanting a broader continental selection might find it limited. We also couldn’t borrow an iron for the room, even when we asked. Laundry service is available, but no in-room ironing, which was inconvenient since other hotels we stayed at in Vietnam had allowed it. It’s not a major problem, just useful to know. Our stay at Minh Toan SAFI Ocean Hotel was comfortable, and I’d still recommend it as a good option in Da Nang, as long as expectations about breakfast and room facilities are clear.

The stay was fine until checkout, which became the worst hotel experience I’ve had in years of traveling around the world. Reception accused us of missing towels, even though housekeeping had never provided them the night before despite several requests. We’d had to reuse old towels, and the accusation held up our airport transfer. We even offered to let staff search our luggage to settle it, which was embarrassing. As we loaded up, someone literally threw our bags into the vehicle. Service was very poor. The travel company that booked this hotel has treated me wonderfully, but I strongly think they should reconsider working with this property to protect their reputation. I can’t recommend it to future guests.

The beach is right across the street, and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. We stayed three nights. The staff were nice, especially at breakfast, and the parking lot guys deserve a shoutout too. Our bike broke down, and they kindly helped us get it up the street. The main downside was how clearly we could hear our neighbours talking, watching TV, and opening doors. We got lucky that they were quiet at night, so we slept well. Street noise was okay. There was some karaoke, but it was mostly quiet by around 22:00.

The hospitality really stood out. The staff made me feel welcome, responded quickly whenever there was an issue, and sent someone right away when our Wi-Fi signal was bad. The connection was fast overall. The rooms were well maintained and clean, cleaner than many places in Da Nang, even some right on the front row. It’s hard to find a good hotel in Vietnam, especially in Da Nang, so this one felt like a gem. My only wish is for better vegan and vegetarian choices. The first couple of days had good options, but later pork or meat was in almost every dish, even the rice. We could still get sunny eggs from the nice guys behind the food counter. We were happy with our stay! 🙏
