Both apartments we stayed in worked out perfectly, even though a mix-up meant we had to switch rooms. I can’t complain about either one. The entrance felt eerie, the hallways smelled, and it was hard to find the right apartment, especially with another Muong Thanh building right in front. They also didn’t provide much in the way of supplies. Still, we got lucky compared with some of the bad reviews, I guess.

The view and location were the only things we really liked about the building. We left five days early after finding a luxury apartment we loved, where taking our small dog in the elevator was easy. Here, pets had to use a separate lift with no air conditioning. Construction workers, cleaners, and people returning from the beach used it too, and it smelled. We spent 26 days in total, after first booking this place for five nights. The apartment we got on arrival wasn’t the one we’d booked, and its bed was so hard and uncomfortable that we barely slept. The room smelled moldy, so we canceled the rest of that booking the next day. The people we rented from understood and charged us for just one night. We then rented another apartment one floor down for a month. Its bed was better, and the woman renting it to us was nice, but the nights were far from quiet. The neighbors were extremely loud, with kids screaming and crying and adults making a lot of noise. They acted as if nobody else lived on the floor. We had a bad stay in the building and wouldn’t recommend it, mainly because of the noisy neighbors and the elevator situation.

The airport ride they provided was appreciated, but having our own transport would have made it easier to cancel without feeling guilty. The staff spoke well and offered housekeeping. We stayed for the full booking, though they canceled it with Agoda without our permission. We accepted a small discount, but in hindsight we should have packed up and left. The apartment we received was nowhere near the standard of the modern places shown in the listing. If those actual photos had been posted, we might have chosen it, but only at a much lower price. My advice in Danang is to book just two nights, then inspect places in person before committing. Take photos and complain to Agoda right away. The bait-and-switch practice seems normalized here, and visitors may not know to expect it. This feels like a broader Vietnam customer service problem more than an issue with this particular host, but Agoda should be more proactive. I only saw the Google reviews after our stay, or I would have canceled. This is the Agoda review that will probably be removed, but I wanted people to know.

The apartment on the 28th floor was clean and well kept, and our stay went smoothly. One downside was that the bathrooms had no exhaust fans. The garbage area was overflowing when we first took our rubbish out, possibly because someone had just moved and left a lot behind, but it was fine the next day. The location was a highlight, with restaurants and marts nearby and the beach very close. The lifts can be slow in such a big, busy building, though they do have separate lifts for beach access and dry use. For groceries, avoid Q-market on either side of the building, they rip you off. Otis mart by the lifts on the A side had fair prices and kind staff. This place really isn’t as bad as the reviews make it sound.

After about a month here, I found it a comfortable place to stay, with a pretty good view. The room itself was comfortable too. The ocean and a great walking area are very close, and there are several grocery shops and restaurants around. There are two apartment buildings, and the different rooms vary quite a bit, so finding your way around can be confusing at first.
