Please stop calling this a 4-star hotel. To me, it's only 2-3 stars. The room was spacious, but it wasn't maintained to a 4-star standard. The staff weren't friendly, the amenities didn't work, and the place wasn't guest-friendly. The breakfast was the worst I've had in all my travels. It doesn't deserve the 4-star label.

Cigarette smoke lingered in the room, and nothing seemed clean: the windows, bathroom, pillows, and room were all very dirty. I even found a man's hair on my pillow 😭. They don't clean the room. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

The breakfast was superb, and the staff took care of my needs quickly during my stay. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, really need a thorough deep clean.

The worn towels were changed daily, which I appreciated, but one bedsheet looked as if it had a shoe mark on it. Dusty rooms and dirty walls made for a nauseating first impression. The staff, from reception to the restaurant, were friendly. The location is fairly near the city centre, though there's not much around; there is a busy little local eatery right next door. I hope management does something about the cleanliness. Erm....

The street outside can get noisy, and the rooms seem in line with what you pay. Still, I remember my first hotel in Vietnam warmly, even with a few shortcomings. The staff were friendly, and although my English caused a couple of small problems when I arrived, we managed to sort everything out. I liked choosing Son Tra: it's a beautiful area, and the beach is walkable, though in that heat I'd rather take transport. Most European tourists stay farther south, but I think we chose the right area.
