Nostalgia DS Hotel

This was easily the worst hotel stay I've ever had, and I've stayed in many. The room was dirty, neglected, and poorly maintained. Reception staff were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional from the start, with no basic respect or hospitality. I was also shocked by how little privacy there was. People came into my room several times without permission or even knocking, as if that were normal. Some of my personal belongings went missing too. I'll leave others to draw their own conclusions, but I'd never had anything like that happen before. With no security, no respect, and such poor conditions, I strongly advise people to stay far away. If you care about your safety, belongings, and peace of mind, don't book here.

The rooms were quiet and looked just like the pictures, and the street was quiet too. Staff were friendly and available 24/7. You can get laundry and a motorbike, walk to the beach and lots of restaurants, and get a Grab very quickly. I'd stay again.

I checked out three days early because I couldn't keep my family in those conditions, and at checkout they charged 20,000 VND for two bottles of water in the room. I'd booked this hotel more than 10 times before as a travel agent bringing guests from my country, so this time I booked it for my own family expecting the same quality. Check-in went fine and the room looked clean at first. But after two days my mother said the towels hadn't been changed since arrival. The room was cleaned daily, and reception blamed a “Do Not Disturb” sign, though the cleaners had entered during those two days. Then a storm hit Da Nang and the elevator stopped. My grandparents are 76 and we were on the 6th floor. They couldn't use the stairs and had to wait in the lobby for hours. Staff said it was a government issue and they couldn't help. I asked to move us to a lower floor, but they wanted extra payment even though the problem wasn't our fault. We ended up helping my grandparents slowly climb the stairs, resting on chairs along the way. The hot water was out for three days as well. Each day we were told to wait until the next day because they lacked parts, with no estimate for repairs. The staff showed little care, and the service was far below expectations. I won't recommend this hotel, especially to families or elderly guests. We moved elsewhere afterward, where everything worked properly.

I liked the hotel, the lovely staff, and the wonderfully kept lobby. I'd give it five stars if the noise weren't an issue. The walls are thin and the tiled corridors carry too much sound into the rooms. Maybe that's fine if you're a heavy sleeper, but I'm not.
