Samatha Apartment & Hotel

The apartments are right by the main strip, so getting around is easy. Staff and the owner were friendly and ready to help with anything. I appreciated how affordable the stay and service were. They also rent motorcycles cheaply, but make sure your international license is the right one and approved for Vietnam.

I found the work desks handy, and the mattress was comfortable, which made the stay pleasant. Reception was warm and helpful whenever I had questions. They also have a modern currency exchange service, which is pretty cool.

We stayed for three weeks and really enjoyed it. The apartment was kept in great shape, and the front desk staff were kind and gave high quality service. It’s just a 2-3 minute walk to the beach, with lots of good restaurants nearby. Renting a bike was easy, and there’s storage in the underground garage. The rooftop pool was a nice extra, and the washing machine in our unit worked really well. We’d definitely come back when we’re in Da Nang.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and changing money there was easy with a consistently good rate. Samantha is in a handy part of Danang, close to the beach and plenty of reasonably priced places to eat. The hotel and guests were quiet. We were on the front of the fifth floor, so we could hear drums and some school noise after 7.30 am, but we still slept well. Our apartment was well equipped for making meals, with a full-size fridge, hot plate, rice cooker, electric kettle, and washing machine. The bed was a little hard but fine for us. The pillow was the problem for me: there was only one, and it was quite hard. I prefer big, soft pillows. We stayed seven days and would return. Construction has started next door, with the foundations already in, so I’m not sure how much noise it might cause. Some guests also left dirty cigarette ends around the pool seating. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, though a poolside smoking ban might help.
