Sen Village Hoi An

The staff were attentive and great with service, and they helped me arrange a motorbike rental. The pool was calm and beautiful, and the breakfast was a good standard spread with an omelette station, bread, cheese, and some local food. The gym was decent too, with a Smith machine, cable machine, treadmill, stationary bike, leg curl, and some dumbbells, though the weight selection was limited. The room was nice and quiet, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I had on my trip in Vietnam. Just a small bathroom issue: there’s only one main light, and closing the shower curtain blocks it completely, so you’re showering in the dark. Apart from that, the hotel was a 10/10 for me.

The hotel has lovely Indochina-style decor and a well-kept garden, and you can borrow bicycles to get around the tourist area. It’s very close to Hoi An old town, which makes getting around easy, though the price felt high. Reception and the kitchen and dining staff were okay. The water pressure was fantastic. The room itself was on the small side and not laid out very well: there was plenty of space for the washbasin, but the shower and toilet areas were cramped, and there was no curtain or blind separating them from the bedroom. Breakfast was just okay. I wouldn’t choose the Bun Bo Hue, though the cheese and omelette were nice. The coffee was very diluted.

We had such a good stay at this beautiful place, with its spacious pool and lovely grounds. It was a great break from the hustle and bustle. After Tet, we visited the local market, where our kids had a lot of fun playing the duck-catching game. We’ll definitely come back soon.

The pool was outstanding, and the hotel was good value for money, probably the best in Hoi An. Evenings and nights were quiet, so sleeping was easy. The bed and high-quality linen were lovely, and breakfast was fresh, one of the better buffet spreads I’ve had in Vietnam. We also ate at the restaurant, where the fish in banana leaf surprised me in a good way. It’s a newly built hotel and everything is well maintained. There was occasionally some maintenance noise around the building during the day, which seems common here. See you next time 💙
