Song Thu Hotel

My wife and I booked ten days through Agoda in May, but the room bore no resemblance to the photos there. It was dirty and musty, the wall plaster was coming off, and the shower didn't work. Staff refused when we asked to move rooms. For two nights, we heard mice in the hotel's fire escape and were too scared to sleep. After that, we fled. We lost most of our money, but were glad to get out.

The room and bed are large for the price, and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is nice too. A few things let it down: the bathroom drain starts to stink after a day or two, breakfast usually isn't as described and isn't a buffet, and the staff's English is limited. They were kind, though, and with a translator or a bit of patience, communication is easy.

We booked through Agoda, where breakfast was listed as a buffet, but that turned out to be completely misleading. The staff at reception couldn't communicate in English when we asked about the lack of hot water in the shower, which is a basic facility you'd expect even at a cheap hotel. The odd surprises carried on until checkout at noon, when we found the receptionist asleep behind the desk. Too funny :D. Avoid this place at all costs.

The room was grimy and seemed poorly maintained, and even the towels were dirty. The bathroom was ridiculous. On top of that, laundry cost more than the price list said. It was overpriced and easily my worst hotel stay.
