Tân Hòa Homestay

The hosts were friendly, and I slept well on the comfortable bed. The room and bathroom were basic, but clean and tidy, and there was no TV. Food is about 2 km away on the main road. The big plus is the location: across the road from the guest house, the domestic terminal is 200 m away and the international terminal 400 m away. Guest houses can be hit or miss, but this one was fine for an overnight stay and did what I needed.

The staff were great, and the rooms were clean and very well looked after. It’s in excellent shape overall. The airport is only 200 meters away, so after parking my motorbike I could walk there in about five minutes. Really convenient.

The airport is only a few minutes away on foot, which is the one real plus here. I stayed twice, first when I arrived in Da Nang and again before flying back to HCM. The second time, after my stay at the wonderful Hoiana Resort in Hoi An, nobody was around to check me in. I called and waited about 30 minutes before the guy called back. He said he was at the beach and couldn’t return, then told me to go into the ground floor. The keys were left behind the check-in register, so I could have taken any of them. That felt very concerning. On my first arrival, the people on the couch didn’t help with the screen door or my bag either. Service and security were poor. There’s construction next door, with loud banging and drilling starting at 7am. I’d guess it’ll continue for at least another 6-12 months, which makes it hard to get needed rest. I also had several mosquitoes in my room and got bitten badly through the night. Downtown and the beachfront hotels are just 15 minutes away, so I’d stay there instead.

The family were really sweet and let me leave my bags with them after checkout. I only wish the homemade drink shown on the menu had been available. It’s very close to the airport. The rooms aren’t at hotel standard, but they’re clean, spacious, and have basically the same amenities.
