The room was really big and comfortable, and the family were so nice and attentive. The location is amazing, right by the river, with a pond on the other side and a porch there too. The one downside is the small road outside gets a lot of motorbike traffic.

The hosts were friendly and always ready to help. The homestay has large, modern rooms with lovely water views, in a quiet area. You can walk or bike into the inner town, and bikes are free to rent. They also rent motorbikes and offer laundry service. I’d stay again.

The family who own The Boat House are delightful, and this feels like a proper homestay. The owner cooks some of the best food you’ll try in Hoi An, at incredibly good prices. The building was designed by a highly competent architect, and the tasteful indoor and outdoor furniture is top quality. Traditional Hoi An artwork complements it all. The rooms are sublime, with top-of-the-range fixtures, deep sprung mattresses, great air-conditioning, and immaculate bathroom fittings. It’s a beautiful rural setting, still well connected and close to the Old Town. The location is stunning, and taking an extra five minutes on a bike to get here is well worth it. Incredible value for money.
