It's an average homestay, but my stay was marked by one awful night because of a local family group. I don't know if they were related to the owner. There were seven or eight of them, and they seemed to treat the place as if it were their own home. The adults chatted very loudly, almost shouting, while the boys and girls ran around yelling in every corner. They didn't seem to care about the other guests, and nobody from the homestay said anything to them. The noise only stopped when they checked out, and even that was extremely loud.

I booked online for a short trip to Hoi An and figured I'd try a cheap place since I only needed somewhere to sleep. That was a bad call. The service was terrible, and I found the owners unprofessional. The Agoda room listing and every bathroom photo for my room type clearly showed a bathtub. In the booking notes I specifically asked for the quietest room and a tub, because I needed baths for medical pain relief. After I paid, the hotel said the rooms with tubs were sold out. I told them that meant the listing was misleading. They had two other rooms available for about $10 or $20 more a night, but the woman refused to offer one. The day after our messages began, she changed the photos and listing to remove all mention of a bathtub. If the listing wasn't wrong, why change it the next day? She told me she'd given me enough notice and I should cancel and stay elsewhere. But I'd already cancelled another hotel I'd booked four months earlier, and by then it had sold the room I gave up, so I couldn't book it again. I wanted her to take responsibility for the inaccurate listing and make things right. I wasn't asking for a free upgrade. She could even have downgraded my room. All I needed was a bath. Then she said she had a funeral to attend and didn't want to deal with me anymore. I didn't feel much empathy from her for my situation, so I wasn't sure why she expected me to show her any. In short, I can't trust the listing to be accurate, and when I raised the problem, they did nothing to fix it. If I hadn't put the bathtub request in the notes, I could have arrived to find a room that didn't match the listing and no tub for the pain relief I medically needed, with no solution from them. They kept telling me to cancel, saying I could only review on Agoda after checkout or if they cancelled. I would have left an equally harsh review there, but they wouldn't cancel, even after I and Agoda asked them to. I eventually cancelled because they seemed determined to keep playing this game, and I wanted my money back. See the attached Agoda messages from her. So unprofessional.

The owner was really welcoming and friendly, and I had a great stay. My room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was a nice little balcony. The location worked well too, just a short walk from the main strip.

A lovely homestay with friendly staff who can arrange bike and scooter rentals, plus lots of activities. It's near all the busy streets, but far enough away to stay quiet.

The owner was super nice, and the place is right by the old town while still being very quiet. My room was clean, with a balcony and comfortable bed. They also have laundry service in-house. I'd recommend staying here.
