The location is very good, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. That was the only positive for me. This definitely didn’t meet a three-star hotel standard. There was mold and bugs on the walls, and the first room had pee on the bed, with a stain on both the mattress and its cover. The cover smelled really bad, so I don’t think it had even been washed. After I complained, we were moved to a room with a better standard.

I spend about 200 nights a year in hotels, and this was the worst room I’ve ever had. The whole place smelled moldy, and the bed had an ammonia and fungus smell. The shower drain didn’t work, so the bathroom flooded after two minutes. The air conditioning units were broken and clearly hadn’t been serviced in a long time. Horrible room. Don’t stay here, it’s an unhealthy environment.

These short-term apartments are clean and practical, about 200 metres from the beach. The Vertigo Bar is just around the corner and streams NRL and AFL.
