Mai Phuong Phu Quoc Resort

The place was beautiful, and everyone was friendly. We were genuinely sad to leave after our four-day stay. Still, the photos look quite different from reality. The dining area was messy and dirty in several places, and the aquariums were very dirty too. Service was slow, and almost nobody spoke English, which was a real problem. The location is very good, but the road to the hotel has no lighting at all. Management should fix that, as it’s a basic safety issue. If you go, ask for Son. He took great care of us and was very friendly. Despite the issues, I’d say it’s worth a visit.

A peaceful, friendly resort with new family rooms, a great shower, and a big breakfast with lots of variety. My husband felt unwell on our first night, and the staff took us to the hospital and stayed until he was discharged. Son was especially kind and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

I visit Phu Quoc every year, and now I have another hotel I’d happily consider returning to. It’s my favorite boutique hotel: a comfortable size, neither too big nor too small. The thoughtful spacing between rooms, beach, pool, restaurant, and front desk makes a real difference to the stay. I found the restaurant food delicious. I’d love to see more upscale breakfast choices, such as shrimp, mantis shrimp, fish, and shellfish. The beach is right in front of the restaurant, so you can enjoy a beer while listening to the waves. All the staff seemed cheerful and left a good impression. I did feel bad seeing the man sweeping the garden and pool being ignored. I wonder why cleaning staff at other hotels are often unfriendly, and whether they’re paid poorly. I ended up here after overbooking meant I couldn’t stay at the hotel I’d already booked. I found this place on Google Maps and made a reservation, and I feel I was very lucky to have done so.

The location made the resort even more appealing, and the rooms were cozy and comfortable. Breakfast had international dishes, so we could pick what suited our tastes. Housekeeping and reception were both really helpful and made our stay more comfortable. We had an awesome time here. Thanks, Mai Phuong@PQ, keep it up!
