There are plenty of eateries and shops nearby, and the location is good. But this old hotel disappointed me. The upstairs corridors were dark when I checked in, and I had to hunt around for hidden light switches just to reach our room. My room was small and had no windows, and nails stuck out of the furniture. The bathroom was so cramped that showering soaked everything, even the toilet paper rolls.

It's quiet, clean, friendly, and has good facilities. The place is almost on the river and about a 12 minute walk from the bus station. It isn't as new as some of the Vietnamese buildings we've stayed in, but it's well worth the price.

The girl working reception when we checked in was kind. But a few minutes later, when we asked another receptionist to help call the Vietnamese authorities, she said the hotel wasn't responsible for that kind of thing and didn't really try to help. That was kind of sad. Our room had no proper windows, so there was no real daylight or view outside.

After staying in the very basic Muang Kha in Laos, this place felt big, clean, and fully equipped. The only letdown was a very indifferent breakfast. The photos aren't of the hotel, but of somewhere we ate down the road. The bun cha there was amazing, only 25000 per person. It was really good, and if you stay here, be brave and try it.

This is the best hotel I've stayed at so far in Vietnam. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and there was A/C and hot water. It's close to lots of restaurants and bars, and the staff were friendly.
