After our first night, the staff moved us to a riverside connecting suite with a shared area and its own half bath. They also offered a later checkout, which I appreciated. Vinplaza is right next door, with a cinema, supermarket and indoor playground for kids. There’s also a local fish market close by on the right, though the ground there is wet and dirty, so you may want to skip that area on a walk. The room lighting was a real problem at night. There was either a very bright light or total darkness, with no dimmer or night light. If I got up to use the restroom before my spouse woke, the light could wake him and make it hard for me to get back to sleep, or I had to hunt around for my phone flashlight. We booked a family room for our two kids, ages 4 and 6, and I expected a shared space, but it was just two connected rooms. The description didn’t promise a common area, so that expectation was my mistake, but I was still disappointed. Dinner at the sixth floor restaurant was good, though service was slow. We have young kids and aren’t very patient. When I first wrote this, our stay was still underway.

The river views are breathtaking, and I’d happily give this place seven stars. At Melia Vinpearl, the lobby, rooms, bathrooms, pool and Gym are all top notch, and the hotel lives up to the Melia name. Service was outstanding, and even strict vegetarians have plenty to choose from at the breakfast buffet.

I’m on my second day and already want to add two more nights. The location and facilities are perfect, but the staff are what really stand out. The front desk and restaurant staff are very well trained, mostly young, enthusiastic and proud of their work. They all deserve promotions. Thanks MELIA for having us.

The spa treatments were a highlight, really relaxing and a lovely part of the luxury feel. I also found the amenities and dining options excellent. My room was spacious and clean with a lovely view, and the welcome from the attentive, detail minded staff made me feel at home from the moment I arrived at Melia Hotel in Quảng Bình. I had a fantastic stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
