It’s a relaxed place with comfortable beds and a cheap price. You can use a kitchen, and the wifi is good. The staff were really helpful, including with booking our cave trip and storing our luggage while we were away. It is a bit outside the city center, so expect a walk to the shops and restaurants. The showers leave the whole bathroom wet, though that’s common in hostels.

The location worked really well for us. It’s just off the main road, about halfway between the beach and the main town, so we could walk to both. The aircon kept the room cool, and the staff were fairly friendly. But I wouldn’t call this a homestay. It felt like a poor-quality hostel, probably the worst place we stayed in Vietnam. It was dirty and unkempt, with questionable stains on the walls and a filthy window sill and area beside the bed. We booked a private room with a “private” bathroom, but it was basically a cubicle off the shared bathroom, so the room didn’t feel private. The air conditioning leaked, and although it was about the only place for our bags, we were told not to put anything underneath it. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and didn’t look particularly clean. I don’t recommend staying here.

The staff were extremely unprofessional. The shared bathrooms were a pain, and they made promises they couldn’t keep. I suggest staying away. The manager said my employer pays and that he is a friend. I tried to repay kindness in kind: each time I got a spoonful of food, I paid back with two spoons, and when people were friendly, I went out of my way to be friendly too. But not only shampoo, my things were going missing from the kitchen. Staff said clearly that it wasn’t their responsibility, so I asked whether I should go to the police.

I only got to stay one night, which was a shame. It’s a very nice hostel in a great spot, close to the beach and lots of delicious, cheap local restaurants. The staff were super nice and accommodating. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
