Odyssey Hostel, Tours & Motorbikes Rental

We had a private three-day, two-night tour, and the overnight stays had beautiful views. They were our favourite places to stay during three weeks in Vietnam. The Loop has so many gorgeous landscapes, but Dô and Vang made it special by taking us along scenic roads through local villages and telling us about the places and their history. When the usual viewpoints were too crowded, they found lovely alternatives. My boyfriend and I had a great time and would definitely recommend Odyssey to anyone planning the Ha Giang Loop.

The communal area had a great vibe, and the hostel was tucked down a side street, so it stayed quiet. The breakfasts were great too. We booked a room for the night before our trip and again on the day we returned from the Hagaing loop. Siri from reception was incredibly helpful with a tricky bus booking. We’d sent out loads of WhatsApp requests about renting motorbikes over Tet, the busiest Asian holiday of the year. Chloe at Odyssey replied first, handled our questions most efficiently, and proactively shared extra information to help us. Everyone helped make the trip memorable. Thank you so much ✨🙏

Our easy riders, Lucky and Chung, rode smoothly and safely, took us to breathtaking viewpoints, and helped us find good places for photos so we could really capture the scenery. The tour was well organised and gave us a relaxed, memorable four days and three nights on the Ha Giang Loop. My brother and I chose a private tour, which made it feel personal. The places we stayed exceeded our expectations, with comfortable, clean, high-quality accommodation throughout. We also loved the Vietnamese food, especially the hot pot dinner one evening. I’d highly recommend Odyssey, particularly for a private tour.

The family-style meals were delicious and plentiful, and we never felt hungry. We stopped about every half hour for a viewpoint, coffee, or a toilet break, which kept the journey relaxed. On one of the most meaningful stops, we visited a local village, learned about people’s daily struggles, bought and shared noodles with families who had less, and brought sweets for the kids. We were invited into a home and got to see how the family lived, an experience you wouldn’t get on a standard itinerary. We chose a private jeep tour because of the weather and wanted more comfort and a personal trip as a couple. It was absolutely the right call. Chang was our guide, spoke excellent English and French, had a great sense of humour, and knew a lot. He answered all our questions, no matter how random, and by the end it felt like travelling with an old friend. Our driver, Hung hopefully not spelling it wrong, was highly skilled and professional. We felt safe even on the toughest mountain roads, and the ride was comfortable throughout. Odessy made the travel arrangements easy from the start, including booking our VIP sleeper bus to Ha Giang and back to Hanoi. The night before, our private room at the Ha Giang Loop Hostel was clean and comfortable. The tour accommodation was fantastic too, quiet and perfect for two picky travellers after long sightseeing days.
