BBQ Villa & Hostel Ha Long

Jane, the hotel manager, and her team provided top notch service, which made the stay even better. I only had one night here, and I'm sorry it wasn't longer. The room was clean and nice, with a huge smart TV, a partial sea view, and a shower with excellent pressure and temperature. Incredible value for what I paid. Highly recommended!

Jane was amazing and an absolute delight. She sorted out transport to and from Hanoi, cruises, and good places to eat. Breakfast is included. It's simple, but tasty and filling, and she can cook other meals too, which are apparently delicious. We were comfortable enough in the 10-person dorm. The beds aren't too bad, and you get a quilt cover and towel. The shower was pretty sweet as well. This is a great hostel with incredibly helpful staff. It's in a remote area with a lot of construction around, but there's an infinity pool you can pay to use and a few little food places nearby. A Grab ride to or from the main strip only costs about $2 😊

These two hosts were the best I've ever had. Our bus broke down, so we arrived at 7am instead of 3am. They let us check in straight away even though we hadn't booked, and charged us for just one night. They gave us great advice on what to do in ha long and helped us book a fantastic tour at a discount. We were on a tight schedule, and they made sure the bus to ninh Binh worked with our tour timings. We had lovely chats and laughs together, and they wouldn't take payment for coffee, either in the morning or after our tour. They went out of their way to do my laundry quickly so I could catch my bus the next day. They also let me shower after the tour even though I hadn't booked another night. You can tell they really care about their guests having a good time. Despite the bad weather, they made my stay in ha long worthwhile. It's a family-run hostel, and I can't recommend it enough. Keep making people happy with your generous spirit and kind hearts.

We stayed two nights at BBQ Hostel 2. The dorm was really nice and clean, and Jane was extremely helpful. She booked a taxi for our 4am check in, arranged a boat tour and our bus to Ninh Binh, and helped out with anything else we needed, including lending us towels. A very nice place to stay, and I definitely recommend it.
